Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap

The beauty addict in me loves a good brush cleaning. I find it somewhat therapeutic, and there's just something so satisfying about seeing all that leftover makeup come off and end up with a fresh, clean brush. I was once a devout user of MAC's Brush Cleanser - that is, until my sister mistakenly took my bottle back to school with her in Chicago. I couldn't get myself to buy a new one; partially because it's around $20, and partially because I was on the hunt for a good alternative.

After seeing a video featuring two of my favorite British beauty bloggers Anna from Vivianna Does Makeup and Lily Pebbles where they mentioned using Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps to clean their makeup brushes in one of their beauty chat videos, I knew I had to try the stuff . If it's good enough for their impeccable taste in beauty products, I was sure it would be good enough for me.

So, at a recent trip to Whole Foods, I ran into a miniature sized bottle of the stuff (lavender scented, my favorite) and decided to give it a try considering the $2.99 price tag. Just a dollop rubbed into a warm face rag should do the trick. I was pleasantly surprised that a little bit goes a long way, meaning this cute little bottle should last me a while.

What are some of your favorite ways to clean your make up brushes?
