Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Hot Pepper // The Product

There's no denying we Americans get a pretty good pick of beauty products. We've got Sephora, Ulta, and Wal Mart for pretty much anything you could ever want, and at a cheaper price than many other places. Our European friends across the Atlantic, however, have lots to choose from as well - and with a few different options that I'll forever be envious of.

The French-born Bourjois is one of those amazing brands that we can't get our hands on here - in stores, anyways (the French really know their beauty stuff... oui?). Luckily, I've pretty much found the gold mine of beauty shopping on ASOS, where you can find makeup and skincare products from all over the world and get it shipped straight to your door. This is how I came upon the lovely Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvets.

This product feels unlike anything I've ever put on my lips. It's a liquid formula with a dough foot applicator, and goes on literally like you would imagine liquid velvet going onto your lips. It's soft and dries in a matter of seconds into a matte mixture of what feels like it would feel if a matte lipstick and a lipstain had a baby. And this color, though. It's a beautiful, bright red that reminds me a lot of MAC Ruby Woo, but maybe a tint more orange.

Note* - this is so long-lasting that even with a good face wash, there were still traces of red on my lips the next morning... which you could argue is both a good and bad thing. Anyways, it rocks.
